How rankings work
  • Ranking is based on all registered events including official tournaments (Worlds, Continentals, Nationals, Qualifiers, Takeover™ and approved Chase-Offs).
  • Match scores at each event (match by match, not overall result) impact overall ranking through an ELO system with different weights (Worlds > Nationals > Chase-Offs …). Within events, a Final has more weight than Group Stage.
  • #1 in the leaderboard may not be the standing World Champion.
  • Leaderboard updates after each registered (and approved) event of the WCT official ecosystem.
  • The #1 spot can’t be taken by points alone — it must be taken during a specific Takeover™ event, where a challenger (ranked 2nd, 3rd or 4th with upward trend) is the sole team fighting for first. The winner takes over #1 (or keeps it if the #1 team doesn’t lose).
